Rumor has it that Capcom's latest entry in the Street Fighter universe will make its way to next-gen consoles and the PC this winter. According to a story from French gaming site Jeuxvideo (http://www.jeuxvideo.fr/street-fighter-playstation-xbox-360-actu-141056.html), Capcom inadvertently announced the platforms for Street Fighter IV on a site reserved for the press.

It is well-known that PC development is very similar to that of Microsoft's Xbox 360, this coupled with console peripherals utilizing USB technology for input could lend some weight to the rumor.

Unfortunately, Jeuxvideo did not provide a link to the supposed site that broke the news and our various scans of Capcom's press sites have come up empty handed. For now, we're rubber-stamping a big rumor badge on this one until we hear more information from Capcom.

RUMORS CONFIRMED BELOW!!!

Earlier rumors stated that Street Fighter IV may be coming to systems other then just an arcade. Well now Capcom (http://www.capcom.com) has confirmed that yes, Street Fighter IV will be coming to the PC, PS3, and 360. Take a look:

Capcom today sent word that its newest Street Fighter game will be making its way to consoles and Windows PC. Xbox 360 and PS3 versions were announced, but no mention was made of a Wii SKU. The publisher did not pin down a release time frame either, but the game is expected sometime during the current fiscal year.

Street Fighter IV will feature the usual cast of characters (Ken, Ryu, Chun-Li, Guile, etc.) in addition to new fighters – Crimson Viper, Abel, El Fuerte, and Rufus – designed for this latest iteration. Instead of opting for a full 3D brawler, Capcom decided to keep the game in the familiar 2D perspective but included "3D flourishes" and changed the art to a more stylized look.

The game also reintroduces six-button controls and "a host of new special moves and features integrated into the input system."

Capcom has directed fans hungry for the latest on Street Fighter to the new website (http://www.streetfighter.com/), which currently has a countdown timer for 2 days and 18 hours, so you can likely expect a bit more information then.
