Today our friends over at IGN (http://pc.ign.com) posted a article with news from Crytek (http://www.crytek.com) about weather or not Warhead will be Crytek's last PC Exclusive title. Here is what they had to say:
Crytek's President and CEO Cevat Yerli said last April that the company would no longer make PC exclusives (http://pc.ign.com/articles/870/870416p1.html) and criticized the platform's piracy rate. However, last week Crytek announced Crysis Warhead, a new Crysis game exclusive to the PC. Crytek engine business manager Harald Seeley has clarified the seemingly contradictory situation with Next Generation (http://www.next-gen.biz/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=10819&Itemid=2).
"When Cevat said we would not create new PC exclusives, he was referring to any new projects we will start in the future. Of course Warhead has been under development for quite some time, and we had no desire or intention to disappoint our loyal PC fans. So, after some careful consideration, we decided to continue our support for the PC Crysis franchise with this release. But yes, all new franchises we develop in the future will be created with a cross platform strategy in mind," said Seeley.
Crytek's CryEngine, the engine that powers Crysis, was shown running on the Xbox 360 and PS3 for the first time at this year's GDC; as a result, rumors have spun saying the critically acclaimmed FPS will make its way over to the consoles. Crytek has denied these claims, but has not announced any games for either Xbox 360 or PS3. The company does license its engine to other developers.
