Battlefield 2 celebrates its three year anniversary

Today EA (http://www.ea.com) gave us the news we were all waiting for! They officially announced that they will be providing the Battlefield 2 Community with a new patch with a open beta to take place very soon! Lets check out the announcement:

With over 15 million player accounts being created since release, Battlefield 2 is still going strong. On the forums we often see discussions about whether there will ever be another update for the game. Well, today we are happy to announce that we are working on an update for Battlefield 2. We are planning to provide an open beta in the near future and we hope you’ll give us your feedback before final release; so watch out for that.

Keep an eye on www.Battlefield.com for information on what we are working on, release dates and don’t forget to visit our forums.

In the mean time Battlefield Bad Company is released worldwide this week and we expect it will keep you occupied while we work on the update.

Great news!!!

I really hope they don't mess with the vehicles too much, they are already fine with the exception of the blackhawk guns which they screwed up a few patches ago. New maps fine, new guns fine, new vehicles fine..but leave what they have there now alone unless there is a bug causing a issue.

I agree, hopefully they don't screw anything up. Hell they've surely taken their sweet time so hopefully there are some good additions.

Man i can't beleave BF2 has been out for 3 years. Hopefully they don't screw up the patch that it would take 3 months to release.

Seems a lot longer than three years that the game was released. I miss the days of a fully loaded blackhawk capping flags. Remember those days everyone, LOL. Was kinda fun back in those days when you could do that and even more fun when you can camp and c4 the flag when those blackhawks would hoover over them fully loaded. BOOM!

I missed the blackhawk guns the way they used to be. That made Mastuure and Stalemate fun maps to play...now they are hardly used cause of the nerfing they did with them and C4.

I'd love to see them beefed back up along with the GL put back the way they were instead of watching your grenades bounce around.
