Ok this is for those of you that wish to tweak Firefox and IE surfing speeds.
Firefox: Updated to reflect 3.0 Changes!
As you can see in this screen shot the middle bold letter entries have been changed by right clicking on it and selecting modify/Toggle.
To get to the configurations type in the address bar-- about:config
That should pull up what it looks like in the picture.
network.http.max-connections change to: 48
network.http.max-connections-per-server change to: 24
network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-proxy change to: 12
network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-server change to: 8
network.http.pipelining change to:True
network.http.pipelining.maxrequests change to: 32
Skip network.http.pipelining.ssl Leave to default
Skip network.http.proxy.keep-alive Leave to default
network.http.proxy.pipelining change to:True
network.http.proxy.version change to: 1.0

Close Firefox and restart it.... surf around to see if you see a page loading speed difference.
Internet Explorer:
Next is IE and this can be done with any verison of IE from 5 and up but I recommend that if your running XP that you be updated to IE7.
This tweak can be done two ways but I recommend just using the registery edit tweak which I found over on speedguide.net
This one is for Win95,98,98SE, ME
http://www.speedguide.net/files/sg_webtweak_9x.zip
This one is for Win2000/XP and it works for Vista which I tried.

To do this manually which I DO NOT SUGGEST for those of you that don't like or know how to go in fooling with your Registery:
Click START then RUN and type in "regedit"
and use these entries which are not there by default so you have to make them!
HKEY_USERS.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Internet Settings
"MaxConnectionsPerServer"=dword:00000010
"MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server"=dword:00000010
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Internet Settings
"MaxConnectionsPerServer"=00000010
"MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server"=00000010
Just download and either extract of click on the registry file to add the entry..close IE and restart it then surf around to notice the speed increase difference.
Disclaimer: Some sites react strange to this which I've only seen maybe 2 in the last 4years or so that have but when I say strange I mean like not loading not causing any serious issue! Knowing this GamersCrib will not be held responsible for any issues that may arise.
